Biography

Ted Sausen is a Subject Matter Expert within the NICE Actimize AML Line of Business. His role focuses on ensuring the Actimize AML technology solutions align with regulator expectations and the needs of the customer. Ted has over 25 years of experience implementing global enterprise solutions across multiple industries including high tech, financial, transportation and manufacturing. He supported engineering, finance, supply chain, product safety and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining NICE Actimize, Mr. Sausen was a Senior Vice President at a large financial institution, leading the Global Compliance Analytics and Technology group. His role focused on implementing strategic solutions to fight financial crime, and supporting Global Economic Sanctions, AML Framework and Advisory, and the Financial Intelligence Unit. Mr. Sausen received his Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS ) Certification.

Biography

An accomplished investigations manager with 12 years investigative experience in the public and private sectors. Extensive experience gained from employment in law enforcement and the financial services sector enables me to assess risks and implement effective and innovative solutions to counter evolving economic crime typologies and threats. I am skilled in managing complex fraud and financial crime investigations. I am able to quickly assess and interpret information to advise stakeholders, including recommending appropriate control frameworks.

Currently managing a team, specializing in AML, fraud and market conduct offences relating to markets and investment banking products. I have a thorough understanding of legislation and regulatory requirements relating to AML, fraud and market abuse investigations. I also understand best practice relating to evidence gathering and retention of material.

I possess expert knowledge of investment products, including equities, derivatives and fixed income, and the global network which supports the trading of these products. Through my role I have a comprehensive knowledge of the Market Abuse Regime and criminal offences and risks associated with global markets, investor services and investment banking products.

I am a member of a number of public/ private partnership expert working groups. Through these groups I have built relationships and shared knowledge with other senior stakeholders from other financial institutions and law enforcement agencies. These groups assist in understanding current and future economic crime threats.

Subject matter expert, with extensive experience in formulating risk strategy, identifying and mitigating risks, establishing risk framework, governance structure, guidelines, policy and procedures, metrics, thresholds, cross-functional collaboration, transformational change and building, leading & developing world-class teams. Exceptional verbal/written communication, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.

Biography

Shankar Kuladevan has over 13 years of Financial Services background and currently works as a Director at UBS responsible for Global AML Client Risk Rating Strategy. He overhauled the historic AML client risk quantification strategies and reengineered a new Client Risk Rating methodology featuring unique AML risk factors, Foreign Correspondent Banking Strategies and Risk Overriding Strategies. He has previously worked at Deutsche Bank, UBS and Santander with most notably addressing the high profile £1.4 Billion unauthorised rogue trader incident by Kweku Adoboli at UBS previously.

Shankar has a degree in Electronic Engineering from University of Southampton and is currently completing an Executive MBA at University of Cambridge. Shankar is a PRINCE II Project Management Practitioner and passed Level 1 and Level 2 CFA program.
